Activities in Mobility: Prize ceremony and awards
On Thursday June 21st 2018 took place the closure acts of the activities in the Educational Center in Road Safety of the Mobility Area in this school year 2017/2018.
11.132 students of all ages and ways of displacement have joined the activities organised by the Municipal Educational Center in Road Safety in Granada, whose objectives are: promote healthier and substainable displacements in a safer way.
There are some and varied Projects that have been carried out: courses aimed to Primary, Secondary, Special Educational Needs, Round tables in High Schools, Cyclists Workshops, Motorbike Workshops, Elderly Workshops, creation of brand new educational material... noticing the increasement of participants to each of the Projects.
The Act has been celebrated on June 21st, presided by the Major of Granada and the Delegate of Mobility, and the Provincial Traffic Headquarters (D.G.T), was a celebration of different activities carried out by children and young people of the city:
1.- Diploma delivery to School Traffic Regulatos of schools:
- Nuestra Señora del Rosario
- Santa Marta
- Miguel Hernández
- Luz Casanova (Escolapios)
2.- Diplomas of gratitude to collaborating companies (ACISA, API and Transportes Rober) and the person responsible of Granada al Pedal as well
3.- Prize ceremony to the winners of Drawing Contest : Once upon a time a bus... in its XXIV Edition. Winner schools are:
- Santa Juliana
- Sierra Elvira
- Vicente Aleixandre
4.- Medals delivery to schools joining Project STARS to encourage active displacements to school: walking, on bike or public transport.
This years schools participants have doubled assistence, that have obtained:
BRONZE MEDAL (First year of participation):
- Arrayanes
- Padre Manjón
- IES Ángel Ganivet
SILVER MEDAL (for second consecutive year):
- San Isidoro
- Juan XXIII Chana
- Andrés Segovia
This Act, to which most of STARS attended riding their bicycles from their schools and overwhelmed Plaza del Carmen, took place in a familiar atmosphere in the patio of the City Council, where at the end of the event have visited the exhibition having pop corn: relatives, teachers and even all political groups thereon that cooperated in the award ceremony.
There was always the cooperation of Granada al Pedal and the Cyclist Unit of Local Police.
