Schoolchilds encourage other students of the city to go to school walking or cycling

The area of Mobility and Citizen´s Protection runs a new project to push active, substainables and safe displacements between schoolchilds.

 

More than 1.200 students in Granada dialy go to their educational centers walking or cycling, thanks to european STARS project started up by the City Council of Granada, will encourage through an informative campaing to the rest of schoolchilds of the city to join this project.

The slogan of this campaign is Step by step, go to school safely walking or cycling and from today will be disclosed in the city through pannels, designed by the students themselves and will be exhibited on urban furnitures and other urban elements, and radio slots featured by participants of project Stars.

The area of Mobility, Citizen´s Protection, Entrepreneurship, Tourism and Trade of the City Council of Granada, Raquel Ruz, has encouraged educational centers to push, both teaching stuff and students, active and healthy displacements..

This initiative, with three educational centers affiliated to it, Juan XXIII, Andrés Segovia and San Isidoro, has a duration of four years and is born to promote active, healthy, susbtainable and safe displacements in educational centers.

Between proposed activities, the councillor has remarked the celebration of road safety, tours to Vega of Granada, meetings with all participants and, even, cyclist competitions.

Ruz has remarked the benefits that this project will have between participants as much as, as she specified, they adquire decision making , take responsibilities and adquire a commitment with the city.
