Educational workshop about child restreint systems
The City Council of Granada, through its Educational Center in Road Safety, cooperate with the General Management of Traffic and BABY´s shops in an Educational Workshop celebrated on 16 June.
Last Saturday, in a festive atmosphere, celebrated this Workshop with more than a hundred of fathers and mothers, where have been reported about importance of child restreint systems to avoid a 20% children died for not having a proper CRS (1 of 5 where travelling without car seat).
Even deaths that may occur, more frequent injuries are:
- Until 2 years old: neck injuries
- Between 2 and 4 years: head injuries
- Between 4 and 10 years: abdomen injuries
Safer place to locate CRS is the central seat of rear seats.
It is mandatory until 15 months old to locate it in rear facing position and until 4 years old it is recommendable (whenever there is another restreint system adaptable to the child).
