To offer more security to those women travelling alone on night laness Buho it is the object of this new service Stop under petition boosted by the City Council, a system that will begin this weekend on bus lines 111 and 121.

The councillor of Citizens Protection and Mobility, César Díaz, has remarked that, for the local authorities it is obliged a social committment to end with this scourge of violece against women in all its forms, taking appropiate measures. Referring to the initiative of Night Buses with stops under petition, has assured that even though it is a small measure, public transport cooperates to avoid the sensation of insecurity that women could have in their displacements at night.

The councellor said that, even though we have been working in this protocol three months ago to make an agreement with several collectives, women associations and the urban public transport company, we thought that the right moment to present this project was today 25-N Internatioal Day for the Elimination of Violece against Women, because of the importance of this day.

About how this project works, women have to tell the driver when they get on the bus, that they want to get off the bus in a point closer to their address, following the itinerary of the Night Bus.

Also, during the trip, they can stay close to the driver so they can communicate with him easily, and tell them in advance the place to stop.

After the contidions of use of this system and due to security reasons, driver can tell users where to get off, because it has the right to say which place is more suitable and secure to stop.

Finally, when they get off will be using the front door of the bus to keep safety for the user and traffic.

This project affects bus lines 111, round line sense South - North and 121, round line sense North - South, known as Buses Buho, two lines that operates from midnight to 5:00 in the morning.

In the first case, line 111 has head stop at Fuente de las Batallas towards north and stops at Gran Vía, Constitución, Juan Pablo II, Pedro Temboury, Teté Montoliú, Luis Miranda Dávalos, Francisco Ayala, plaza de Europa, Sagrada Familia, Carretera de Málaga and Camino de Ronda towards Zaidín. In this district, bus goes through Avda de América, Dílar, Poeta Gracián, Torre de Comares, Carlos Vº, Andrés Segovia towards Sancho Panza and Cervantes, going to paseo de Bomba and Salón and Humilladero and back to Puerta Real.

on the other hand, bus line 121 also has head stop at Acera del Darro, but towards south through palacio de Congresos, Basilios, Cervantes, Primavera, Hípica, Carlos Vº and another streets of Zaidin district, going to Ronda towards Carretera de Málaga, Circunvalación de la Encina and Avda de Andalucía.
