Refurbishment project in Cuesta de la Merced and Placeta de la Merced
Due to refurbishment project in Cuesta Alhacaba and Placeta de la Merced in Albayzin, there should be done traffic cuts and diversions. Check up schedule.

UPDATE 16/5/2023
Starts the demolition in phase 4 of Cuesta Alhacaba (section 1 of the works) between Carril de la Lona and Cruz de Arqueros St. on Tuesday 16/05/2023. Cruz de Arqueros St. will be downwards only from Carril de la Lona.
Public transport will make downward sense through Cruz de Arqueros.

Works have started on January 9 2023.
Due date for traffic cuts in Cta. de Alhacaba will be according to next schedule:
* Phase 1: Cta. Alhacaba (section between Plaza Larga and Placeta Almona del Albayzin).- Total traffic cut for three weeks from 9/1/2023.
Access should be restricted, free access to garages in the area, both Panaderos St. from Pagés St. and Larga de San Cristóbal St. from Ctra. de Murcia will be dead end in this phase.
* Phase 2: Cta. Alhacaba (section between Placeta Almona del Albayzin Lavadero de Méndez St.).- Total traffic cut for a month and a half once last phase is over.
Access should be restricted, free garages in the area, to Panaderos ST. from Pagés St., to Larga de San Cristóbal St. from Ctra. de Murcia and section affected of Cta. de Alhacaba will be dead end in this phase.
* Phase 3: Cta. Alhacaba (section between Lavadero de Méndez Street and Carril de la Lona).- Total traffic cut for two months and a half once last phase is over.
Traffic will be closed, just free access to garages in the area, to Panaderos St. from Pagés St., to Larga de San Cristóbal St. from Ctra. de Murcia and section affected in Cta. de Alhacaba that will be dead end during this phase.
* Phase 4: Cta. Alhacaba (section between Carril de la Lona and Placeta de la Merced -until crossroad with Cruz de Arqueros-).- Total traffic cut for three months once last phase is over. To ease public transport traffic should be restricted at the entrance of Placeta de la Merced from Plaza del Triunfo but those vehicles going to Callejón de la Merced through Cruz de Arqueros that wll be one way (downwards) between Carril de la Lona and Callejón de la Merced and double sense until Plaza del Triunfo.
Access should be restricted, just authorized vehicles to garages in the area, to Callejón de la Merced from Plaza del Triunfo, to Panaderos St. from Pagés St., to Larga de San Cristóbal ST. from Ctra. de Murcia and to affected section in Cta. de Alhacaba between Carril de la Lona and Larga de San Cristobal St. that will be reached trhough Ctra. de Murcia and should leave through Cruz de Arqueros
* Phase 5: Placeta de la Merced (beween Cruz de Arqueros and Pza. del Triunfo).- Partial traffic cut for a month once last phase is overr.
From July 31 to August 27 2023 takes place total traffic cut in Cuesta de la Alhacaba, Carril de la Lona and Cruz de Arqueros. More info.
Total traffic cut in crossroad in Cruz de Arqueros, Cuesta Alhacaba and Plaza de la Merced on August 28 to September 1st 2023. More info.
Public transport: Bus lines C31 and C32 will be diverted trhough Carretera de Murcia from August.
